Refund Policy

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy describes the conditions under which Oditorz, operating from Pune, Maharashtra, may provide refunds for fees paid for professional services. Given the nature of accounting, tax filing, and advisory work, our services primarily involve professional time, expertise, and effort rather than tangible products.

By engaging our services and making payments, you agree to this Refund Policy.

General principles

  • Professional fees are typically charged for time, effort, and expertise invested in your assignment. Once work has commenced, a substantial portion of the value is already delivered through analysis, consultation, and preparation of filings.
  • Government fees, statutory payments, and third‑party charges (such as filing fees, penalties, interest, or payment gateway charges) are non‑refundable under all circumstances, as they are not retained by Oditorz.
  • Refund decisions are made on a case‑by‑case basis, taking into account the stage of work completed, resources utilised, and reasons for the refund request.

Cases where refund is generally not applicable

Refunds will not generally be provided in the following situations:

  • Where services have been substantially or fully rendered, such as preparation or filing of income tax returns, TDS returns, compliance documents, bookkeeping, or finalisation of accounts.
  • Where delays or failures are due to:
    • Non‑cooperation, delayed responses, or incomplete/incorrect information provided by you.
    • Non‑availability, downtime, or technical issues of government portals or third‑party platforms.
    • Changes in law, regulatory policies, or interpretations beyond our control.
  • Dissatisfaction arising from an assessment order, scrutiny, or action taken by authorities when filings and advice were based on information provided by you and law prevailing at the time.

Partial refunds (discretionary)

Subject to our review and discretion, partial refunds may be considered in limited scenarios, for example:

  • You have paid in advance, but the assignment has not yet commenced and no significant time or resources have been invested.
  • Only an initial review has been conducted and you decide to discontinue the assignment at an early stage.

In such cases, we may deduct administrative charges, time costs for work already performed, and any out‑of‑pocket expenses, and refund the remaining amount, if any.

Full refund (exceptional cases)

A full refund of professional fees (excluding government or third‑party charges) may be considered in rare and exceptional situations, such as:

  • Clear evidence of gross negligence or error solely attributable to us, which directly and demonstrably causes financial loss, and cannot be reasonably rectified.
  • Where payment was charged to you in error (for example, duplicate payment), subject to verification.

Any such refund will be subject to internal investigation and approval and may require you to provide supporting documents and reasonable time for review.
